About Amravati

Amravati is a city in Maharashtra located in the Vidharbha Region. It is the ninth largest city in Maharashtra and second largest city in Vidharbha Region in terms of population. It is the Administrative Head Quarter of Amravati District as well as Amravati Division. It is one of the Maharashtra’s nominated cities under Smart Cities Mission.

Amravati is located about 663 kilometers East of the state capital Mumbai and 152 kilometers West of Nagpur.
Amravati has a tropical wet and dry climate with hot, dry summers and mild to cool winters.
Total area of Amravati Sub Division is 904 Square Kilometers including 782.59 sq. kilometer Rural area and 121.65 Sq. Kilometer Urban area.

The total population of Amravati Sub Division in 2011 was 7,88,327 out of which Urban Population was 6,47,057 while Rural Population was 1,41,270.break The sex ratio of Amravati Sub Division is 955 per 1000 males.
Hinduism is the major religion in Amravati Sub Division with 61.08% followers, with Islam having 23.70% and Buddhism having 12.80% followers.
